Le Bateau - Displacing maritime narratives
We are Le Bateau, an artist duo composed of Laëtitia Delauney and Aurélia Noudelmann. Our practice focuses on reshaping maritime imaginaries, primarily through the design of hybrid boats, as sites for the emergence of floating narratives, sharing knowledge, and imagination. At the intersection of installation, film, and publishing, we explore forms of poetic parasitism and the displacement of dominant narrative frameworks. For us, our floating sculptures become a tool for visual, political, and fictional research. We prioritize feminist and queer initiatives during participatory projects.

Buurtwerkplaats Noorderhof is an ongoing social design project located at the Sloterplas in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. It’s at this meeting and development place that we built our boat from April to July 2021. It is a place that often organizes and welcomes associative initiatives and events.
