To celebrate the 2024 spring opening of our participatory whale-shaped boatbuilding worksite, we are hosting a collection of gatherings at fanfare on March 9. Together, we will play host to Daisy Dawson, Qurratul Ain, Bureau Double, and Sankrit Kulmanochawong for various activities during the day.
Le Bateau Gathering is the first in a monthly series of events led by Le Bateau Duo from March 9 until July 7, 2024.

Ain shared her research through a documentary film "Fight with Care: Coast, Gender & Resistance" made in collaboration with filmmaker Bhargav Prasad. The film portrays the lives of fisherwomen in the coastal wetlands of Pulicat, home to one of the most thriving artisanal fishing economies in South India. Today, as the threat of mega-port construction looms over their villages, fisherwomen are fighting to protect their coast against the economic interests of the state and multinational corporations.
