Belouga was built between April and July 2024 at the Buurtwerkplaats Noorderhof, with the support of Amsterdam750 and the Talent Development program of the Stimulerings fonds. The ship has been constructed collectively as a collaborative work site. No previous experience was needed, the main idea being to share skills, knowledge, learn and make together. Everyone was welcome, we gave priority and special space for women and the queer community. Alongside the worksite, we invited artists every first Sunday of the month the share their craft and add their touch to the vessel.
